Scholarship Description: The Queen’s University Belfast is inviting applications for International PhD Awards worth over £300,000 commencing their studies in 2018. The awards are open to all international students who meet the eligibility criteria.

Scholarship Provider: The Queen’s University Belfast today is an international centre of research and education and a major part of the fabric of Northern Ireland.
The Queen’s University will continue to accept the IELTS Academic (both SELT and non-SELT), and TOEFL internet-based tests for direct admission to undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, if taken within the past two years.
Degree Level: Awards are available to pursue PhD programme.
Available Subject: Awards are available within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS).
Scholarship Benefits: Each award is valued at approximately £20,000. The award cannot be exchanged or transferred to assist with other costs associated with PhD study at QUB and cannot be held in conjunction with any other funded University studentship.
Number of Scholarships: With 15 accommodation awards on offer in 2018, this is a great opportunity for international students wishing to study in Belfast.
- Applicants must have applied to a School within the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty at Queen’s University Belfast and applicants must have received an offer of a place from a School within the AHSS Faculty to be considered for this scheme.
- Applicants should insert the code INTACC18 under the section for funding on the Direct Application Portal if they wish to be considered for this award.
- Applicants cannot be in receipt of any other funding supporting their PhD studies.
- Only new international applicants should apply. Current international students who are already enrolled in a QUB programme are not eligible. Students must be classified as an international fee-paying student paying the international tuition fee rate in order to be considered for this scheme. Students paying NI/GB/EU fees are not eligible for international scholarships.
