The Paul Scherrer Institute is a multi-disciplinary research institute which belongs to the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain covering also ETH Zurich and EPFL. It was established in 1988 through the merger of EIR and SIN.

Degree Level: Position is available for pursuing research programme.

Available Subject: Position is available in the fields of matter and materials, energy and environment and human health.

Eligibility: Students have an advanced degree in engineering, energy/environmental science, economics and/or policy, with very good skills in quantitative methods. Mathematical programming and statistical analysis skills are highly beneficial for this position. They have a good understanding of techno-economic characteristics of energy technologies and Swiss and European energy policy issues, such as decarbonisation strategy, energy supply security, and the role of new technologies.
