Scholarship Description: Applications are invited to Einstein Center for Neurosciences Berlin – PhD Fellowships available for international students starting in fall 2018.
About Institute: The Einstein Center for Neurosciences Berlin (ECN) was initiated to establish an umbrella structure that specifically fosters interdisciplinary, collaborative research by facilitating synergies between existing research groups and promoting interaction on all levels. The ECN currently has about 100 individual members (principal investigators), many of whom are directors of clinical research programs. All share a common aim: to increase our knowledge of neuroscience and develop new research approaches.
Degree Level: Fellowships are available to pursue PhD programme.
Available Subject: With around 100 internationally recognized research groups, the ECN offers outstanding interdisciplinary training and research opportunities for national and international scientists, with research spanning from synapse to behaviour, molecule to disease, and brain to mind.
Scholarship Benefits: A scholarship constitutes of roughly 1468 € per month, from which health insurance has to be subtracted.
Eligible Nationalities: National and International students are eligible to apply to apply.
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must have a
- Formal qualification is an MSc or equivalent degree.
- Outstanding candidates with a BSc degree are also eligible after assessment of their qualification.

- Once you have a profile, you can start filling in the required information and to upload the required documents (see “What do I need to supply?”)
Only complete applications via this platform can be processed.
Interested candidates should submit a CV, two letters of recommendation and a letter of motivation/intent. This letter should also include a short description of the applicants’ academic and research interests, nominating up to three potential labs within the consortium. Please note that you are free to change your preference during the application process or during lab rotations. Reference letters can be handed in with the application or submitted separately by the reference.
