Scholarship Description: The University of East Anglia is inviting applications are PhD Studentships within the Social Sciences Graduate School for the academic year 2019/20. Studentship is available for UK/EU/International students.

University of East Anglia’s aim is to be a world-class research-intensive university and deliver teaching and facilitate learning of the highest quality.

Scholarship Provider: The University of East Anglia (UEA) has once again been rated as one of the best universities for student experience in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2015. An internationally renowned university based in a campus that provides top quality academic, social and cultural facilities to over 15,000 students.

Applicants must be classified as an international (usually non-EU resident) applicant for fee purposes. All applicants to the University of East Anglia must be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of English language before they can be admitted onto any course or programme. (IELTS: 6.0 and PTE: 55)

Degree Level: Studentships are available to pursue PhD programme.

Available Subject: Studentships are awarded within the Social Sciences Graduate School.

Scholarship Benefits: The Studentships cover tuition fees (UK/EU rates), a tax-free maintenance grant (currently £14,777 per year), and a research training support grant. International students are welcome to apply; a small number of studentships will be available to cover full international fees.

Eligible Nationalities: Studentship is available for UK/EU/International students.

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Applications for all studentships are invited from suitably qualified graduates. Candidates applying for a PhD studentships should hold, or expect to hold, relevant undergraduate and Master’s degrees (or equivalent) including some research experience. Candidates applying for a 1+3 studentship should hold or expect to hold a relevant undergraduate degree. Candidates will be interviewed, usually via telephone or Skype, as part of the selection process. EU and International applicants may be required to provide evidence of competence in the English Language.

Application Procedure: To be considered for this award, you should make an application for admission to a PhD in the normal manner, but you should indicate the intention to be considered for an open studentship under the Postgraduate Studentships Scheme.
