Bayer Foundation is inviting applications for scholarships for medical students to undertake a clinical traineeship or to continue education at a prominent institution in Germany and abroad. Priority is given to study plans related to projects in the fields of cardiology, oncology, inflammation, gynecology and diagnostic imaging. Eligibility: – The foundation places great emphasis on internationalism, and therefore grants scholarships exclusively to students from German-speaking countries wishing to study abroad and foreign applicants who want to study in Germany. -Applicants should be able to show good to very good final school marks as well as a particularly successful pre-clinical test. -Furthermore, a broad horizon and a high level of motivation and personal commitment are expected of all applicants – be it in a social, political or cultural field.

Scholarship Description: Application for a Carl Duisberg scholarship is open to students specializing in human medicine and veterinary medicine undergoing a clinical trainee ship or in their practice year who would like to take part in scientific projects or continue their education at a prominent institution. Key support areas are projects focusing on public health and social aspects and projects associated with the fields.

Duration of award (s): Scholarship is awarded up to 1 year. The scholarship is paid out in installments according to an individually agreed payment plan.
What does it cover? Support is generally intended to cover the cost of living, travel costs and incurred project costs. Each applicant can request a specific amount of support by submitting a “cost plan” and the Board of Trustees then comes to a decision based on this request.

Notification: The selection meeting for 2013 will take place on September 6, 2013. Applicants who passed the multi-level selection process successfully will be invited to an Interview Center to Leverkusen this day. After the interviews the Foundation Committee decides on the scholarships.
