Commonwealth Scholarships for PhD Programme at National University of Singapore, 2017

Applications are invited for two Commonwealth Scholarships for the PhD programme at the National University of Singapore at its Graduate School of Integrative Sciences and Engineering (NGS). Citizens of any Commonwealth country (other than Singapore) are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) is one of the largest and most prestigious scholarship schemes for international study in the world.

Since it was established in 1959, around 34,000 individuals have benefited – 26,000 of them have held awards funded by the UK government, managed by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSC). The CSC’s Secretariat is provided by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), which is responsible for all matters concerning selection, academic studies, and evaluation.

Applicants must hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree).

Degree Level: Scholarships are available to pursue PhD programme.

Available Subject: Scholarships are available within the Graduate School of Integrative Sciences and Engineering (NGS).

Scholarship Benefits: Each award covers:

  • Full tuition fees
  • Monthly stipend
  • Computer/book/conference allowance

Number of Scholarships: Two scholarships are available.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Awards are open to citizens of any Commonwealth country (other than Singapore)
  • Applicants should have at least an upper second class honours degree or equivalent

Nationality: Citizens of any Commonwealth country (other than Singapore) are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Entrance Requirements: Applicants should have at least an upper second class honours degree or equivalent..

English language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Deadline: Application deadlines are:

  • May 15 for the January intake of the following year
  • November 15 for the August intake of the following year
