Scholarship Description: CoQuS opens calls for applications for PhD Fellowships for international students to study in Vienna, Austria. The faculty members will select new students according to their academic excellence, scientific achievements and expected potential for future research.
Scholarship Provider: The Vienna Doctoral Program on Complex Quantum Systems (CoQuS) is a training center for more than 40 students who are selected from an international pool of applicants, based on their academic excellence, scientific success and ambition.

Degree Level: Fellowships are available to pursue PhD programme.
Available Subject: The Vienna Graduate Program on Complex Quantum Systems (CoQuS) offers graduate education through intense research training and advanced courses in theoretical and experimental quantum science.
Scholarship Benefits: The Vienna graduate program CoQuS provides financial support for up to three years. Doctoral students admitted to the CoQuS program will have a regular employment at their hosting university.
The employment includes:
- A gross salary around 2000€/month (this includes tax & health benefits)
- A tuition waiver
Number of Scholarships: The number of places in this excellence program is limited. The faculty members will select new students according to their academic excellence, scientific achievements and expected potential for future research.

Applicants are requested to provide their application documents via the online submission system and inform their academic advisors about the submission guidlines concerning the recommendation procedure.

All applicants will be notified of the decision of the pre-selection committee at mid-end July 2018.
2nd step in the application procedure
Short-listed candidates will be invited to a two-day hearing taking place in Vienna in 15 & 16 Oct. 2018. The applicants will be asked to give short presentations and will be interviewed by the selection committee. The applicants will also have the opportunity to visit the CoQuS laboratories.
The short-listed applicants will be notified of the final decision of the selection committee shortly after the hearing.
* For the recommendation letters Internal candidates (i.e. candidates from the two universities which are affiliated to the CoQuS programme, the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology), at least one of the academic advisors must be external to CoQuS and its groups.
