Fscire Research Fellowship for International Applicants in Italy, 2017

Scholarship Description: The Fscire is accepting applications for one year fellowships to pursue research on the history, exegesis or theology of Christianity. Fellowships are available to international applicants.

The Reformation Research Consortium, RefoRC, is a unique, leading and attractive international network in the field of studies related to the Sixteenth Century Reformations. RefoRC is the academic department within Refo500. It connects academics and supports them in their research activities. Thereby RefoRC collaborates as closely as possible with all the RefoRC members and their scholars whose field of activity is connected with the history and theology of the reformation era.

Degree Level: Fellowships are available to pursue research.

Available Subject: Applicants are invited to apply for one of the following positions: a) research on the history, exegesis or theology of Christianity, its renewal and its relationships with other religions cultures.

Scholarship Benefits: Fellowships will be attributed according to private Italian laws and do not involve a dependent employment contract (lavoro subordinato). Fellowships are regulated according to the fiscal regulations provided for by the Italian research contracts (assegni di ricerca) and amount to € 22,000 (gross). The amounts are regulated by art. 4 L. 476/1984 (fiscal treatment), art. 2, c. 26 and ff. L. 335/1995 and following updates; DM MLPS 247/2007 (maternity), art. 1, c. 788 L. 296/2006 (illness); where applicable, international double-taxation agreements.

 

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

Applicants must:

  • Hold a doctoral degree in one of the domains pertaining to religious studies;
  • Demonstrate fluency in English;
  • Not have been found guilty of criminal offense.
  • Teaching experience and knowledge of other modern or classic languages would be an asset.

Eligible Nationalities: Fellowships are available to international applicants.

 

Application Procedure: Applicants are invited to send their applications to segreteria-at-fscire.it and to include:

a) Full CV (including first name, last name, citizenship, place and date birth, codice fiscale/taxpayer’s code number);
b) copy of ID or passport;
c) Cover letter;
d) PDF copy of a choice selection of publications for evaluation; e) list of the publications selected in point d; f) certificates or evidence of language proficiency in English and other languages if applicable; g) two letters of presentation.
