Scholarship Description: The Max-Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, Department of Religious Diversity in Gottingen is now accepting applications for Postdoctoral Fellowship (one postdoctoral position) in the new MAX-CAM Research Centre in Germany.

The postdoc is expected to manage his/her own research independently but contributes to the joint activities and outputs of the Centre, including working closely with the team of four Research Associates in the Centre in Cambridge and one Associate who will be based in Halle.

About University: The Max Planck Society is Germany’s most successful research organization. Since its founding in 1948, 18 Nobel Prize laureates have been among the scientists. It is on the same level as the world’s best and most respected research institutes.

Degree Level: Fellowship is available to pursue Postdoctoral programme.

Available Subject: The Centre is devoted to the study of social change with a focus on interconnections between economic and ethical change. It is anticipated that the researcher appointed to the position in Göttingen will have a strong background in religious anthropology and the study of religious networks in Asia.

Scholarship Benefits: The Postdoctoral position (TVöD E13) is offered until the end of the project (31.12.2021). The workplace is Göttingen, except when undertaking field research.

Number of Scholarships: One position is available.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

Good research skills, the ability to work in a team, and communication skills with good written and spoken English are required. Applicants should be in possession of a PhD in anthropology, religious studies, or Asian area studies.

Eligible Nationalities: International applicants are eligible to apply for this fellowship program.
