Birkbeck University of London is inviting applications for Patrick McAuslan LLM Scholarship in International Economic Law (Intensive – Justice and Development pathway). Applicants from East African (Burundi, Comoros, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Somalia, Somaliland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) countries can apply for the scholarship.

Birkbeck, University of London+, is a public research university located in Bloomsbury, London, United Kingdom. Established in 1823, Birkbeck specialises in evening higher education and is a constituent college of the federal University of London.

Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Degree Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing LLM programme at the Birkbeck, University of London.

Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded for LLM International Economic Law (Intensive – Justice and Development pathway).

Scholarship Award: The scholarship covers tuition fees of £14,775 for one full-time international student of the LLM in International Economic Law (Intensive – Justice and Development pathway). Additionally, it includes a monthly contribution towards living costs in London for the duration of the course from March to July (Approx. £ 5000). The total value of the award is worth GBP 20,000.

Scholarship can be taken in the UK

Eligibility: 

  • Applicants have successfully applied for the LLM International Economic Law (intensive – Justice and Development pathway; there is a separate application process for the LLM at the link above). They need to have received at least a conditional offer for this LLM programme, and
  • Applicants are from one of the following East African countries: Burundi, Comoros, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Somalia, Somaliland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
  • The competition is open to new students only.

Nationality: Applicants from East African countries can apply.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have their previous degree.
