PhD Scholarships at the Department of Social and Political Sciences, University of Cyprus, 2018

Scholarship Description: The Department of Social and Political Sciences calls for applications for two PhD scholarships for its PhD programs in Sociology and in Political Science. These scholarships are addressed only to new applicants for admission in September 2018.

Scholarship Provider: The University of Cyprus is a public research university established by the Republic of Cyprus in 1989. It admitted its first students in 1992 and has approximately 7000 students.

Degree Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD programme.

Available Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Sociology and in Political Science.

Scholarship Benefits: The yearly value of the Scholarship will be 12,000 Euros each, that is a 1,333 Euro monthly allowance for nine months (it does not include any obligations during summer), plus tuition. Additionally, 800 Euros per year will be available for presentations at international conferences.

Eligible Nationalities: Citizens of Cyprus are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must prepare their research proposal after consulting the website of the Department and after examining the faculty’s research interests. They should contact directly a member of the faculty with whom they have similar research interests for initial guidance regarding the PhD proposal. The thesis can be written either in Greek or in English or any other international language with the prior approval of the Research Advisor.

Application Procedure: Applicants must submit electronically their application for the PhD programmes of the department. Those interested for a scholarship should state it at Step 11 of the application.
