PhD Studentship: Control of Waste Heat Recovery System in Heavy Duty Truck, 2017

Scholarship Description: Applications are invited for a full-time PhD studentship in the School of Engineering and Informatics, University of Sussex. Successful applicants will work on the project, “Control of Waste Heat Recovery System in Heavy Duty Truck Dr Bao Kha Nguyen” under the supervision of Dr Bao Kha Nguyen.

Degree Level: Studentship is available for pursuing PhD programme.

Available Subject: This studentship focuses on modelling and control of waste heat recovery systems used to capture the heat from the exhaust and coolant of internal combustion engines in heavy duty trucks to produce some forms of usable mechanical or electrical work.

Scholarship Benefits: £14,553 tax-free stipend plus a fee waiver to the UK/EU amount

Eligibility: The scholarship includes a three-year stipend at a standard rate (currently £14,553 per annum) and, in addition, fees at the UK/EU rate. Since the scholarship only covers fees at the UK/EU rate, overseas applicants are kindly requested to state in their application how they propose to cover the difference between UK/EU and overseas fees.

Eligible Nationalities: UK/EU and international students are eligible to apply.
