Scholarship Description: RMIT University is delighted to offer Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowships in various RMIT’s research priority areas. National and International applicants are eligible to apply for these fellowships.

About University: RMIT University (officially the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, informally RMIT) is an Australian public research university located in Melbourne, Victoria.

Degree Level: Fellowships are available to pursue Postdoctoral research programme.

Available Subject: Fellowships are awarded in the following fields: Architecture & Design, Economics / Business, Engineering, Humanities Arts, Research, Health, Environment.

Eligibility Criteria: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

Postdoctoral Fellowships:

  • Fellowships are open to people who have completed a Ph.D. within the last five years. The fellowships are aligned with the RMIT strategic plan and our eight Enabling Capability Platforms.

Research Fellowships:

  • The Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowships are open to researchers with an excellent track record who can make a significant contribution to RMIT’s research priority areas.

Eligible Nationality: National and International applicants are eligible to apply for these fellowships.

Application Procedure: Applications must be submitted electronically through Your Career at RMIT.

Applications must include:

  • A copy of your CV
  • Your response to each selection criteria (listed in the position description). Note that your response should be no more than 200 words per criteria
  • A 750-word statement of your career achievements relative to your research opportunity, including:

a) top five research outputs over your career (not just publications)
b) opportunity to undertake research (including reasons why opportunity might have been limited due to career breaks or non-research roles)
c) research impact relative to opportunity, including tangible benefits to end users
