The Queensland University of Technology is offering Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA) for future and domestic international research students. These scholarships are available only to commencing QUT doctoral research students who are able to commence by July 2017.
QUTPRAs are provided to assist with general living costs. Awardees, who are not already in receipt of an external tuition fee scholarship, will also be granted a QUT HDR tuition fee sponsorship for the term of candidature.

To assess the English language proficiency, university accepts results from the following tests: IELTS (Academic); TOEFL iBT (Internet-based); Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE); Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE).
Degree Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate research programme.
Available Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Business, Creative Industries, Education, Health, Law, Science and Engineering Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) and Institute for Future Environments
Scholarship Award: Students will receive
- A living allowance, indexed annually ($26,682 in 2017). The scholarship is tax exempt for full-time students, and is to support living costs for up to 3 years for doctoral students.
International students will also receive an accompanying QUT Higher Degree Research Tuition Fee Sponsorship.
Students can also apply for:
- A $1,520 relocation allowance (domestic students only).
Eligibility Criteria: Students must
- Have a first-class honours (H1) or equivalent. If you’re not sure if your qualifications are equivalent to first-class honours, check our guidelines for determining honours equivalence.
- Be accepted into a PhD or professional doctorate at QUT.
Eligible Nationalities: Future and domestic international research students are eligible to apply.
Application Procedure: Apply for a research course by 28 February 2017 and indicate on their application that they wish to be considered for a scholarship as part of their early targeted scholarship round.
