The University of Essex is pleased to offer SPAH Research Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2017-2018. These scholarships are available to full-time UK, EU and overseas students within the School of Philosophy and Art History.
The School of Philosophy and Art History Doctoral Scholarships support talented applicants to undertake full-time postgraduate research study.
The University of Essex is a public research university in Colchester, Essex, England. It was established in 1963 and received its Royal Charter in 1965.
The most common tests for language proficiency are IELTS and TOEFL iBT. However, University also accepts some other English language test scores such as Pearson and Cambridge certificates and may accept school qualification.
Degree Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing the research programme.
Available Subject: Scholarships are awarded within the School of Philosophy and Art History.
Scholarship Benefits: The SPAH Research Scholarship is a partial fee waiver worth £4,200 per year for a maximum of three years.
Eligibility:
- The SPAH Research Scholarship scheme is available to full-time UK, EU and overseas students. To be eligible to be considered, you must hold an offer from the University of Essex for a PhD for entry in 2017.
- Receipt of the scholarship is subject to the applicant firmly accepting the offer of study, and registering as a student of the University of Essex for the 2017-18academic year, and meeting all conditions of our offer. No alternative form of the scholarship is available and the award cannot be deferred to a later year from the one for which you are admitted.
- Applicants may only receive one scholarship administered by the University of Essex. In the event that an applicant is already in receipt of another University award, the larger of the two awards will be kept and the other released.
- Please note that students must be applying for a new programme of study at the University of Essex, starting in October 2017, in order to be eligible. Students who are already completing one degree at Essex but wish to apply for support for another are eligible to apply.
Eligible Nationality: Scholarship scheme is available to full-time Home/EU and overseas students.
Application Procedure: Applicants must have an offer for a postgraduate degree at Essex before they can apply for this award. To be considered for School of Philosophy and Art History scholarships we require a completed application form, CV and research proposal (up to 2,000 words).
