STEAM Scholarships for PhD Programme at Birmingham City University in UK, 2017

The Birmingham City University is offering Computing, Engineering and Built Environment scholarships for May 2017 intake. STEAM Scholarships are fully funded PhD scholarships across subjects in the Physical, Social and Life Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Humanities, and Mathematics.

The Faculty of Computing, Engineering and The Built Environment (CEBE) is located at the City Centre Campus, and will provide a single home for the entirety of research provision

All teaching at Birmingham City University is carried out in English, so you must have a required proficiency in the language.

Degree Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD Programme at the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and The Built Environment (CEBE).

Available Subject: STEAM Scholarships are fully funded PhD scholarships across subjects in the Physical, Social and Life Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Humanities, and Mathematics.

Scholarship Benefits: The funding consist of a tax-free stipend paid monthly and has a current value of £14,296 per annum. The bursary is renewable annually for up to 36 months in total, subject to you making satisfactory progression within your PhD research. In addition to the bursary award, the University will provide a waiver for your research degree tuition fees up to the value of the Full-Time Home Student fees (£4,120 in 2016-17).

Eligibility:

  • PhD applicants will normally be expected to hold a Master’s degree in a relevant area.
  • Students will need to complete the research degree application form and provide a statement of your initial research ideas (we advise between 1,000 and 2,000 words, with full referencing to relevant literature).

Nationality: Citizens of all nationalities are eligible to apply.

English Language Requirement: All teaching at Birmingham City University is carried out in English, so you must have a required proficiency in the language.
