The University of Sussex is inviting applications for excellence scholarships for UK, EU and international students. Scholarships are available for the undergraduate degree programme.
The University of Sussex is a public research university situated in Falmer, near Brighton in Sussex.
It is assumed that all students in the summer program will be fluent in English. The modules are intensive, and they will need good language skills to keep up.

Scholarship Benefits: The Sussex Excellence Scholarship is worth £3,000 in Year One of a three or four-year undergraduate degree:
- £1,000 cash award and £2,000 rent reduction if you are living in University-managed accommodation *
- £3,000 cash award if you are not living in University-managed accommodation *
- Please note Abacus House is not University managed.
Eligibility: Applicants will automatically be awarded the Sussex Excellence Scholarship if you have achieved the required scholarship threshold in one of the eligible academic qualifications. See the full eligibility criteria below for details.

Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirements: It is assumed that all students in the summer program will be fluent in English. The modules are intensive, and they will need good language skills to keep up. For students whose first language is not English, you will need to provide evidence of suitable English Language qualifications as follows:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component
- Pearson’s Test of English (Academic) with 62 overall with at least 56 in all four skills
- Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English (CAE): grade B
- Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based (TOEFL IBT): 88 overall with 20 in listening, 19 in reading, 21 in speaking and 23 in writing
How to Apply: If their qualification is listed below and you achieve the minimum grades listed you will be automatically awarded the Sussex Excellence Scholarship. There is no separate application form.
Qualifications not listed above
If they are taking other qualification, and are achieving outstanding results, you can apply for one of 10 additional scholarships. Selection will be based on academic merit. The successful students will be taking qualifications equivalent to British A-levels and be achieving very high grades (ie. it is expected that those awarded the scholarship will be achieving results within approximately the top 10% of results for that qualification.
Past recipients of these bonus scholarships have been taking qualifications like the Access to HE Diploma, the Polish ?wiadectwo Dojrza?o?ci (Certificate of Maturity) and the Malaysian Unified Examination Certificate
