Taught Master Scholarship Announced at University of Warwick UK 2016

The University of Warwick has launched scholarships worth £500,000 for taught masters students in 2016-17. Applicants from UK/EU can apply for the scholarship scheme.

The Warwick Taught Masters Scholarship Scheme presents an opportunity for 2016/17 entrants to obtain funding alongside a postgraduate loan.

The University of Warwick is a public research university in Coventry, England. It was founded in 1965 as part of a government initiative to expand access to higher education.

Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for postgraduate taught masters course at the University of Warwick.

Study Subject: Scholarships are offered in diverse fields to help students in upgrading their education.

Scholarship Award: 100 awards of £5000 per student will be available to eligible Home/EU students from under-represented groups. The scholarship will be paid as a contribution towards their tuition fees.

Scholarship can be taken in the UK

Eligibility: In order to be eligible to apply applicants need to be able to answer yes to all six questions listed below:

Part 1 –General eligibility criteria

  • Did applicants start their first undergraduate degree at a UK university in 2012/13 or 2013/14?
  • Are/were their tuition fees for undergraduate studies between £6,000 and £9,000 per annum?
  • Did applicants graduate from their undergraduate course in 2014/15 or 2015/16?
  • Are applicants applying for a full-time Masters course or a part-time Masters course that will be studied over a maximum of 2 years, starting in October 2016?
  • Are applicants eligible to pay tuition fees at the Home/EU rate?
  • Can applicants confirm that they do not already hold a Masters (or Integrated Masters) or PhD qualification?

If applicants can answer yes to all the questions above, please continue to the next section of eligibility criteria. If applicants have answered no to any one of the above questions, unfortunately, applicants will not be eligible for this scholarship scheme.

Part 2 – Under-represented groups in Postgraduate Taught study criteria

In order to be eligible to apply applicants must have answered yes to all of the 6 questions in Part 1 and be able to answer yes to at least one of the following 3 questions:

  • Are/ were applicants in receipt of maintenance grant support from the UK government for their undergraduate course?
  • Are/ were applicants in receipt of a special support grant support from the UK government for their undergraduate course?
  • Were applicants in receipt of Disabled Students Allowance whilst studying, or do they receive Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment?

If applicants can answer yes to at least one of the questions in Part 2, and to all of the 6 questions in Part 1, they would like to invite them to submit an application for the Warwick Taught Masters Scholarships Scheme 2016/17. The deadline for applications to be received is Thursday 21st July, 16:00hrs.

Unfortunately, applicants will not be eligible for this scholarship scheme if they are not able to answer yes to any of the questions in part 2.

Part 3- Additional Priority Areas

The University of Warwick is seeking to encourage applications to postgraduate study from students least represented in the University community. They will be awarding additional points to those whose application and supporting documentation can demonstrate any of the following:

  • Applicants were aged 21+ on the first day of their undergraduate course.
  • Applicants entered University at undergraduate level from a Care background or as a Foyer resident.
  • Applicants are deemed Independent by the UK government for student support purposes.
  • Applicant studied their undergraduate course at the University of Warwick (alumni)

Nationality: Applicants from UK/EU can apply for the scholarship scheme.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have their undergraduate degree.

Test Requirement: No

English Language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
