University of Amsterdam is pleased to offer Two PhD positions on Positive Emotions (4 years) within the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences – Department of Psychology. International students are eligible to apply for this position.

Available Subject: Positions are awarded on Positive Emotions within the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences – Department of Psychology.
Scholarship Benefits: For PhD candidates, the gross monthly salary will be in accordance with the salary scales for PhD candidates at Dutch universities, i.e. ranging from €2,191 in the first year to €2,801 in the final year. The positions include allowances for research expenses, including computer and recording materials, participant costs, experimental materials, and travel and subsistence costs towards project-specific travel, including conferences. The positions also offer an opportunity to gain experience with teaching, subject to availability and qualifications.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:
You have or are about to finish a MSc or MA in Psychology or related discipline. You have an interest in emotion and in nonverbal communication. You have some experience of designing, executing, and analysing quantitative research; knowledge of the Facial Action Coding System (position 1) or acoustics (position 2) are advantageous. Your written and spoken English are excellent and you have a strong interest in pursuing a scientific career. You also have good research project management skills and the ability manage workload and resources to meet deadlines. You are willing and able to travel internationally (costs will be covered by the project grant).
